The Good!

Since last week I kind of jumped the gun and started out with the ugly, or what once was the ugliest and is now barely mediocre, I will reflect upon some of the good for balance!
Good to me today is so much different than it was when I was younger. Good then was a giant steak and onion sub at Hoagie House or spending the evening cruising speedway in a fast car (or truck) with loud speakers, looking for long haired guys doing the same thing.  These days it's homemade lasagna at home with the family followed by movies or video games! To be honest I think we laugh a lot more these days than we did back then.
Tucson has grown so much that sometimes it can be overwhelmingly like a big city. I am so glad that it only takes a moment for it to be reduced back to that little big town I remember. I still cannot go anywhere without running into someone that I know. Often it takes a moment for one of us to remember where we know the other from but then the memories fly and the updates on lives and families is quick to follow! It reminds me how wonderful my life has been even with the ups and downs.
It is also good that there are still Eegees and Hoagie houses left in the day of Subway and Chipotle. Now don't get me wrong I like a BLT or a carne asada and pinto bean burro as much as the next girl but they can't compete with a strawberry and lemon Eegee paired up with a grinder or meatball sandwich and the best fries with rand in town or a steak and cheese hoagie with a icy Royal Crown cola! I don't know about you but the olfactory memories of good times that come along with these delectable delights are the icing on the cake for me.
That's it for this week as I think I have rambled on enough! I hope everyone has a great 3 day weekend and maybe a hike up into Sabino Canyon is in the near future! If so jump off a cliff for me and say hello to the badger that has taken up residence mid-trail!
